Biography
Representing clients and their families in nursing home abuse, truck accidents, industrial worksite injuries and complex litigation cases, Jacob Born has helped thousands of clients over the course of his more than a decade-long career.
Jacob grew up in northeast Columbia where he graduated from Ridge View High School. While attending the University of South Carolina, Jacob was offered a job as a "runner" at Chappell Smith & Arden, and eventually began working alongside attorney Mark Chappell as a student.
Jacob graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2006 and enrolled in the Charleston School of Law.
Following law school, Jacob took a job with Chappell Smith & Arden where he quickly rose to the ranks of partner.
Jacob is licensed to practice law in both state and federal courts throughout South Carolina and Georgia. He is a contributing member of the American Association of Justice, the South Carolina Association for Justice, and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. Jacob has been nominated as a "Rising Star" with Super Lawyers Magazine, which is awarded to the top 5% of lawyers in their practice area.
When he's not working, Jacob enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, working on DIY projects around his home, and skiing.
